Building Family Wealth Through Thoughtful Investing

We started Salimon because we noticed a gap. Families who wanted to invest seriously but weren't interested in day trading or speculative ventures had few places to turn. We believe in steady growth, informed decisions, and planning that spans generations.

How We Got Here

Back in 2019, Helena and Dimitri were sitting in a coffee shop in Fredericton talking about their own families. Both came from households where money was managed carefully but never really grew. Their parents worked hard, saved diligently, yet somehow never seemed to get ahead.

What they realized was simple: saving alone doesn't build wealth. And the typical investment advice out there either assumed you had a massive portfolio or pushed high-risk strategies that kept families up at night.

So they started Salimon with a straightforward goal. Help families invest in ways that made sense for their lives, their timelines, and their comfort levels.

We're not here to promise overnight riches. We're here to help you make decisions that support your family's future without unnecessary complexity or risk.

What Guides Us

These aren't corporate values we printed on a poster. They're the principles that shape every conversation we have and every recommendation we make.

Clarity Over Complexity

Financial jargon exists to make simple things sound impressive. We skip that. If you can't understand what we're recommending, we haven't done our job well.

Long-Term Thinking

Markets fluctuate. That's normal. We focus on strategies that weather those ups and downs because your family's goals aren't measured in quarters.

Honest Conversations

Sometimes the right answer is to wait. Or to adjust expectations. We'd rather have those conversations early than pretend every situation has a perfect solution.

Education First

We're not gatekeepers of financial knowledge. The more you understand about how investing works, the better decisions you'll make. We explain things thoroughly.

Family-Centered Approach

Your investment strategy should fit your life, not the other way around. We consider everything from education savings to retirement planning as part of one connected picture.

Measured Risk

Risk is part of investing, but it should be risk you understand and can live with. We help you find that balance between growth potential and peace of mind.

The People Behind Salimon

We're a small team based in Fredericton. That's intentional. We want to know the families we work with, understand their specific situations, and provide guidance that actually fits their lives.

Helena spent twelve years in financial planning before starting Salimon. She has a talent for breaking down complicated investment concepts into plain language. When she's not meeting with families, she's probably hiking somewhere in New Brunswick or reading investment research papers.

How We Work With Families

Every family we work with gets a personalized approach. But there are some consistent elements that define how we think about family investing and the guidance we provide.

Understanding Your Situation

We start by learning about your family's goals, timeline, and comfort with different types of investments. This isn't a quick questionnaire. It's a real conversation about what matters to you.

Building a Realistic Plan

Based on what we learn, we create an investment strategy that fits your situation. This includes specific recommendations, expected timelines, and honest discussions about potential outcomes.

Regular Check-Ins

Markets change. Lives change. We meet with families at least twice a year to review progress, adjust strategies if needed, and answer any questions that have come up.

Education Along the Way

We explain our recommendations thoroughly and provide resources to help you understand investment principles. The goal is for you to feel confident about the decisions being made.
